Last Podcast on the Left

The Last Podcast on the Left covers all things true crime, horror, and the bizzare. Hosts Marus Parks, Henry Zebrowski, and Ben Kissel discuss both imagined and real tales of murder and mayhem. If you love comedy mixed in with your weekly dose of true crime then you’re in luck. All three hosts bring something to the table.

Marcus is the meticulous researcher, and the voice of reason. Henry is the loose cannon, and often the comical relief when stories get too heavy. He’s often reigned in by Ben, who is the voice of us listerners often hearing these stories for the first time. Often true crime podcasts are dry and matter of fact. Last Podcast on the Left is the first podcast that kept me listening, and waiting very week for a notification of a new fascinating story. Their approach to storytelling is filled with entertaining facts and opinions, even when discussing hard hitting subjects they fill it with dark comedy. Many may find their soft approach towards crime offensive, but depending on your sense of humor, it may be the refreshing approach to true crime that you need.

Last Podcast has a few different categories of episodes. The most exciting stories to me are Heavy Hitters, where they can take two to five episodes discussing an infamous crime or legend. Such as Dahmer, Columbine, and even Mormanism. Then there are one episode discussions that cover single subjects such as werewolves, aliens, and sorcery. There are also weekly Side Stories where Ben and Henry discuss true crime stories of the week. Every episode has something to offer, and are a huge source of entertainment.

There a few episodes that I particularly enjoy, and depending on your favorite subjects here are a few I recommend.
